Arsenal transfer: Gunners reportedly lead Everton and Mourinho in goalkeeper chase

Arsenal are one of the strongest teams currently in the mix to sign Barcelona goalkeeper, Neto. the Gunners are nicely poised in the race to land the Brazilian.

The 31-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer. Nothing came to fruition though and he stayed at the Nou Camp with Barcelona.

He played just 12 times during 2020/21 and was largely used as a deputy to Marc-Andre ter-Stegen. As a result, the player could seek a move to pastures new this summer.

Neto arrived at Barcelona in 2019 from Valencia. He has played 17 times for the Catalan giants, keeping seven clean sheets. He’s also turned out for Juventus, Fiorentina and Parananse.

Arsenal will be in the market for a goalkeeper this summer. Bernd Leno’s future is up in the air, Mat Ryan has returned to Brighton and looks set for Real Sociedad, whilst Runar Runarsson is available for loan or transfer.

Andre Onana has been linked with a move from Ajax. His ban means he can’t play until November though and the Gunners will perhaps need two goalkeepers to come in.

Neto has played second fiddle for a large part of his career. Despite that, he is vastly experienced and has proved a useful custodian when called upon.
