Report: Arsenal interested in signing Bayern Munich ace for a bargain fee

that Arsenal are interested in luring Bayern Munich colossus Jerome Boateng back to the Premier League this month, with the Gunners only having to pay a bargain figure of £12.8million.

Boateng, 31, has fallen down the pecking order at Bayern this season. Interim manager Hans Dieter-Flick has preferred to use Niklas Sule, Javi Martinez and evend Benjamin Pavard on occasion. Boateng’s descrese in form has seen him drop out.

Indeed, the 76-time Germany international and 2014 World Cup winner has been afforded just eight Bundesliga matches. He has this season, though, now reached more than 300 appearances for Bayern since joining the club from Man City in 2011.

Arsenal are in desperate need for a new centre-back, and were in need even before Calum Chambers was ruled out for the rest of the season. David Luiz and Sokratis are struggling for form, Shkodran Mustafi could leave and Rob Holding needs fitness.

TBR’s view Would Boateng be a good signing for Arsenal?

Without a doubt, Boateng would be a top signing for Arsenal for many reasons. Instantly, he brings that calmness at the back and crucial leadership that Arsenal lack. He also has a winning mentality, after almost nine years at Bayern.

So, for a fee less than £13million, Boateng would be a stunning signing for The Gunners.
