According to The Athletic, the Gunners made contact with their Premier League counterparts on Tuesday.

Arsenal apparently indicated their intention to submit a proposal.

They then followed this up with a formal bid, added David Ornstein.

However, the offer reportedly fell well below Leeds’ valuation.

Leeds are likely to reject the bid ‘out of hand’, added the report.

In addition, Arsenal are reportedly Raphinha’s third-choice.

Barcelona are apparently the club the Brazilian international wants to join the most.

However, Leeds’ purported £55million valuation of the 25-year-old means Barca may struggle to sign him.

Chelsea are then second, then Arsenal and Tottenham, added The Athletic.

Arsenal won’t get Raphinha on the cheap – TBR View

Raphinha has proven himself to be one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Premier League.

Last season, he scored 11 goals contributed three assists from 35 top-flight appearances.

“Raph’s been unbelievable ever since he’s come through the door,” Kalvin Phillips told back in May.

“He’s had a lot of critics over the last few months but his attitude and the way he has stuck at it, the way he has played has been unbelievable.”

Raphinha would be a superb signing for Arsenal, but Leeds won’t let him go for cheap.
