Report: Arsenal have decided to bid for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo after the World Cup
According to a report from , Arsenal will table a bid to sign Palmeiras youngster Danilo in the January transfer window.
The Gunners are very light in the middle of the park at the moment. Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe have both been out with long-term injuries, which has left Mikel Arteta with just Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga in the middle of the park.
Arsenal are desperate to sign a new midfielder and it looks like they’ve identified the player they want.

Arsenal have decided to bid for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo after the World Cup
Danilo was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the Gunners even tried to sign him on transfer deadline day by letting Palmeiras know that they’re willing to pay £22 million for his services. The Brazilian giants made it clear then that they did not want to sell Danilo as they were still in the Copa Libertadores.
Now, that stance may change.
The report claims that Arsenal believe Palmeiras could be willing to cash in on their young gem in January as the Brazilian football season will close just before the World Cup kicks off next month.
It has been claimed Edu will test the Brazilian outfit’s resolve by lodging an improved £26 million bid after the World Cup ends. It will be interesting to see if that will be enough to sign the talented youngster.
Danilo, whose current contract does not expire until the end of 2026, has a release clause of £86 million. ()

TBR View:
Arsenal are currently on top of the Premier League table. The Gunners have been sensational since the start of the campaign, but they’ll need all the help they can get to stay there until the end of the season.
The January transfer window will be hugely important for Arsenal. The Gunners simply have to improve their squad depth if they want to have any chance of competing with Manchester City, whose B-team are better than most sides in Europe.
Danilo would be a very interesting option. The Brazilian is a hugely talented player with humongous potential. He has all the characteristics to succeed at the highest level, and it’s only a matter of time before a big club snaps him up.
Edu’s knowledge of Brazilian football is as good as anybody’s in the world. He has a proven track record of signing exceptional players from his home country, and if he believes Danilo is good enough, Arsenal fans should trust him.
