Laca-replacement: Arsenal handed a brutal blow amid Silva transfer talk

This summer provided Arsenal with their best opportuity to replace Lacazette. The former Lyon man seems to be edging towards the exit door with just a year left on his current contract.

And in the former Porto man, the club had identified the perfect replacement for the 30-year-old. But, Arsenal have been struck a blow after news of Silva moving to RB Leipzig.

The search for a new number nine has reached an impasse.

The need is imperative after last season’s failure from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his strik partner. Neither player scored more than 20 times across all competitions, meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah failed to provide sufficient competition.

News of Silva’s choice will hurt Arsenal, who will need to scour the market for more options.
