Report: Arsenal handed boost in pursuit of four-time league champion, ‘especially’ keen on PL

Reported Arsenal target Layvin Kurzawa is no longer on the radar of two big sides and is “especially” keen on the Premier League, according to .

The Paris Saint-Germain defender is out of contract at the end of the month and was heavily linked with a switch to Mikel Arteta’s Gunners during the January transfer window.

With the football industry set for a huge financial blow in wake of the global health crisis, the Gunners are seemingly looking at high-profile free transfers such as Kurzawa.

According to , Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus were keen on the 27-year-old but have “abandoned” interest, although “a return to the discussion cannot be excluded”.

Back in January, Kurzawa was apparently not convinced by the Inter project, while Juve had interested PSG by offering Mattia De Sciglio in exchange but nothing came of it in the end.

The report adds that Arsenal have been handed a boost by Kurzawa’s camp being “especially” keen on the Premier League, with Arteta said to be interested in the player’s profile.

However, the Gunners reportedly still face serious competition from Atletico Madrid, while Chelsea have also apparently thrown their name into the hat.

Although Kurzawa’s form has been somewhat mixed over the past few years, losing his PSG first-team place to Juan Bernat, the £ is still a high-quality player more than capable of delivering at the highest level, and has a glittering CV which includes .

A dynamic attacking full-back with great football and an eye for a pass – aside from that moment against Dortmund of course – looks well suited to line up in Arsenal’s current system, and with two big suitors reportedly out of the race, it’s a boost for the Gunners.

That said, Arsenal currently have Bukayo Saka, Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac in their ranks, so would there be room for Kurzawa once all are fit again, and providing they all stay at the club long-term?
