Report: Arsenal and Tottenham offered chance to sign ‘devastating’ 22-year-old forward who’s like Arjen Robben
Arsenal and Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign winger Tete when the January window opens.
report that the 22-year-old is contracted to Shakhtar Donetsk, but when FIFA suspended the contracts of all foreign players in Ukraine, he joined Lyon.
Laurent Blanc is gearing up for his first transfer window in charge of the club and will allow the winger to depart when it opens.
That means he has been offered to Premier League clubs including the north London rivals on a loan basis with an option to buy.
Arsenal and Tottenham offered chance to sign Tete
The report says that West Ham and Newcastle have also had the same offer, although it is not clear whether they will take it up at this stage.
West Ham were with Tete in the summer but did not end up signing him despite a big window of investment under David Moyes.
Tete is predominantly a right winger but is also capable of playing as an central striker or as a number ten and perhaps that versatility as well as his loan availability will attract an English suitor.
In October 2020, Tete delivered a masterclass for Shakhtar in a 3-2 Champions League group win over Real Madrid.
