that the Serie A side are expected to offer the Italy youth international a professional deal when he turns 16 at the start of next month.

The report notes that both the Gunners and the Magpies are interested in the 15-year-old, who has scored four goals and provided two assists in all competitions this season.

Gnonto – who also has five goals in five appearances for Italy’s under-17s – is clearly a player to look out for in the future. Inter’s determination to keep him is telling, as is the interest from Arsenal and Newcastle.

The Gunners, in particular, have uncovered some real gems in recent times. Unai Emery has a raft of exciting young players in his ranks, and is giving plenty of them an opportunity to shine.

The likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have caught the eye this season. And it appears – despite the current struggles – that bright times could lie ahead at the Emirates.

It will be intriguing therefore, to see if Gnonto is tempted by Arsenal’s interest. It would also perhaps be foolish to rule Newcastle out.

The Magpies look to be in for another disappointing season. But a move to St James’ Park would surely offer the clearest path to the first-team on paper.

So it will be very interesting to see what decision Gnonto comes to in the coming weeks.
