Report: Arsenal and Manchester United scout Lyon striker Moussa Dembele
Arsenal and Manchester United have just returned from a scouting mission in France. , Moussa Dembele was the player they watched.
Dembele was in action in the Ligue 1 fixture between Marseille and Lyon. And Lyon strengthened their grip on a Champions League qualifying spot.
Third-place Lyon moved four points clear of Saint-Etienne in fourth with a dominant win. Lyon brushed Marseille aside with a 3-0 win away from home.
Arsenal and Man United came to watch Dembele. But he had to settle for a spot on the bench. With Lyon 1-0 up and Marseille down to 10 men, Dembele was introduced in the 75th minute.
Less than 10 minutes later, he found the net. This made it 2-0 before Maxwell Cornet’s late goal added gloss to the scoreline.

Dembele’s strike took his total tally to 19 goals since his summer move from Celtic. The France U21 international is impressing with 14 goals in Ligue 1 this season.
Prior to this season, Dembele scored 51 times in less than 100 games for Celtic. The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the best young strikers in Europe.
Arsenal’s strike pair Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have impressed this season. But Danny Welbeck’s contract is expiring and he could leave.
And with Lacazette linked with a £60m move to Barcelona (), Dembele could become a primary target for Unai Emery. Arsenal might look to bring the ex-Fulham striker back to London this summer.
