Report: Another manager on Spurs radar is close to joining another club, deal 80% done

Another of Tottenham Hotspur’s reported managerial targets is close to sealing a move to another club, according to ESPN.

Spurs are currently on the lookout for a new permanent manager after sacking Jose Mourinho last week.

So far, two of Spurs’ reported targets have already committed their futures elsewhere.

Julian Nagelsmann will be joining Bayern Munich, while Erik ten Hag has penned a new deal at Ajax.

Meanwhile, Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers is reportedly not interested, with claiming Spurs have decided to look elsewhere amid a potential £70million outlay in wages and compensation.

Now, former Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri, who linked with the Spurs reins on 21 April, is now apparently close to sealing a switch to Roma.

claims that a deal to bring the 62-year-old to the Italian capital as a replacement for Paulo Fonseca is “80 percent done”.

TBR View:

You can’t imagine there would be too many Spurs fans particularly gutted about missing out on Sarri, to be honest.

His style of football wasn’t particularly appreciated by a fair few Chelsea fans when he was at Stamford Bridge.

And would he be a good long-term option for Spurs as part of a project?
