Report: Almost-relegated European club keen on £20m-rated Liverpool ace; wants to play UCL football
Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is reportedly a transfer target for former loan club Hertha Berlin.
, the Bundesliga club are eager to recruit the Serbian international permanently. And the Berlin side have reignited their interest in Grujic over the past few days.
However, the 25-year-old midfielder wants to play UEFA Champions League football and favours a move to FC Porto. Grujic played 39 games last season for the Portuguese giants in all competitions, scoring two goals.
A season to forget for Hertha
Although there is a personal attachment to Hertha for Grujic, the Bundesliga side last season finished two points off the relegation play-off spot in the table after spending most of the campaign looking likely to suffer the drop.
Grujic was a regular for Porto last season as the Portuguese side made the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Sergio Conceicao’s side beat Juventus in the Round of 16 before succumbing to eventual champions Chelsea in the quarter-finals.
Grujic transfer will make Liverpool a tidy profit
With that Grujic has a price tag of £20m, the Reds stand in a good position to earn a decent profit for the former Red Star Belgrade midfielder.
The 25-year-old was Jurgen Klopp’s first-ever Anfield signing. that the Premier League giants paid £5.1m back in 2016 for the dynamic ace. And Liverpool once again look likely to make a good profit on a player that hardly featured for the club.
