Report: Ajax believe Bergwijn price beyond them after Tottenham heroics
Ajax now believe that the price that Tottenham Hotspur would want for Steven Bergwijn is beyond them having hoped to sign the forward before the weekend, .
Bergwijn appears to have just enjoyed a defining moment in his Spurs career. The 24-year-old has already gone through a lot since Antonio Conte arrived in North London.

It had appeared that he may be on the move this month. Ajax had made the strongest play to secure Bergwijn’s signature. Their highest offer to date was reportedly worth £15 million.
Tottenham were open to selling for a fee of £25 million.

However, the idea of Bergwijn leaving is now a lot harder to imagine. He scored two stoppage-time goals to earn Tottenham the three points at Leicester on Wednesday.
And with that, Ajax look ready to admit defeat in their bid to bring Bergwijn back to The Netherlands.
that they had hoped to sign him in time to feature this weekend. However, they now believe that his valuation has probably increased. And that is likely to take the player out of their price range.
Bergwijn still has plenty to prove to complete turnaround at Tottenham as Ajax throw in towel
Bergwijn made an incredible impact at the King Power Stadium. And that game is likely to be talked about for years to come. Certainly, it could be a pivotal moment in the race for the top four.
But Conte and Bergwijn will be wary of getting carried away. His form before those goals has not been good enough. And he has not yet contributed enough in front of goal.
The cameo surely takes a transfer off the table in this window. Ajax are reportedly ready to throw in the towel.
But the same discussions will likely take place in the summer if he does not kick on from here.
