Report: Agent’s offered league leaders’ ‘astonishing’ player to Arsenal

Arsenal have now been offered Georginio Wijnaldum, that the midfielder’s agent has made contact with the club about a potential move.

Gunners fans will be hoping to see their side bolster their options in the middle of the park. It does appear that they may be making progress in their pursuit of Arthur Melo. It was reported this week that the Juventus star wants to move to the Emirates.

But he may not be the only option Arsenal look at in the coming days. It was reported in December that they were keen on Wijnaldum, with Paris Saint-Germain open to loaning the Dutchman out.

The 31-year-old has struggled to cement himself in the PSG side. He has made 17 appearances in Ligue 1 this term. But only 10 of those games have seen Wijnaldum start.

Wijnaldum is a boyhood Arsenal fan. And of course, he is no stranger to the Premier League. In fact, he has made 217 appearances in the competition for Newcastle and Liverpool.

And perhaps he may end up adding to that tally before too long. that his agent has now offered Wijnaldum to Arsenal.

Arsenal should capitalise on Wijnaldum offer – as long as loan move doesn’t derail Dusan Vlahovic pursuit

Wijnaldum has the potential to be an outstanding signing for Arsenal. He was superb for Liverpool right up until his exit last year. .

Much may depend on PSG’s stance on Wijnaldum. If they are open to a loan deal, Arsenal should seriously consider a move. The Gunners are incredibly light in midfield right now.

But the Gunners are pursuing Arthur, while also weighing up spending £70 million on Dusan Vlahovic.

Signing a midfielder is a must. But missing out on Vlahovic would be a massive blow, too. If Arthur is the top target, Arsenal must only pursue Wijnaldum as long as it does not derail a bid for Vlahovic.
