Report: Agent of Uruguayan midfielder looking to secure Arsenal move for client
that the agent of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez is in contact with Arsenal and Chelsea over a possible move to London this summer.
Nandez, 24, is renowned for being a pocket-sized holding midfielder that is aggressive – perhaps a South American and more modern version of AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso. He only joined Cagliari last summer.
Lucas Torreira’s national teammate, Nandez earned a move to Serie A side Cagliari after shining with Boca Juniors – clocking up 63 appearances and even having a hand in 13 goals from the base of the midfield.
He has impressed in his first season at Cagliari – clocking up 37 appearances. Little surprise that Gattuso himself wants to sign Nandez, while the report also claims West Ham tried to sign him in January and could return.
But it also states that the player’s agent is in liaison with both Arsenal and Chelsea in order to work out if there could be room for the tough-tackling midfielder at either of the big London sides.

TBR’s view – Nandez would be a sensational signing
Somewhat understated given he chose to join Cagliari, Nandez is far better than a mid-table Serie A side – such was the surprise when it was confirmed Cagliari had landed the midfielder from Boca.
However, he has now showed those in Italy what he is capable of and it is testament to his quality that Napoli are interested. If Arsenal need some steel in midfield but cannot sign Thomas Partey, Nandez might just be ideal.
