Report: Agent of Issahaku Abdul Fatawu used false Liverpool interest to drive up client’s price

The agent of young player Issahaku Abdul Fatawu is using Liverpool as false interest to drive up the price for his client.

According to , Bayer Leverkusen are no longer going to pursue a move for the 17-year-old after growing suspicious of the player’s representative.

The news comes after the German outfit met the ace and discussed a deal with the Bundesliga side keen on doing a deal.

An agreement was supposedly in place before the agent cancelled the second meeting that would’ve finalised the move. This occurred because the person ‘had a meeting with the Reds’ over his client.

After finding out the truth, Leverkusen withdrew from the deal.

Jurgen Klopp’s men weren’t the only side being used to drive up interest in Abdul Fatawu with Ajax and Borussia Dortmund also mentioned.

Whilst directly lying about a clubs interested in your client is a rare practice, agents have ruined football.

The whole sport has become more centered around money as opposed to around the beautiful game.

Abdul Fatawu and his agent are just one of many examples within the sport of how transfers are used to maximise profit.

Just this week, wanted €20m for his client, Gianluigi Donnarumma, to sign a new deal with AC Milan. The move was rejected and the young Italian looks likely to leave the Serie A giants for pastures new.

It seems the super agent has a grip of young stars and uses them as a way of maximising the amount of cash he makes.

The use of a client as a way of making money may not be illegal but proves to be incredibly immoral. Abdul Fatawu and his agent’s use of false Liverpool interest is sadly one of many situations which won’t go away any time soon.
