Report: 53-year-old open to talks with Tottenham, Andrea Pirlo says he brings ‘a sense of calm’

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Massimiliano Allegri, and according to the , the 53-year-old would consider the Spurs vacancy.

Daniel Levy is in the process of finding a new permanent manager for Tottenham following Jose Mourinho’s sacking last week.

So far, there have been a couple of disappointments, with Julian Nagelsmann and Erik ten Hag committing their futures elsewhere.

RB Leipzig’s Nagelsmann will be joining Bayern Munich, while Ten Hag has signed a new deal with Ajax.

Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers is another candidate heavily linked with the role, but he’s said to not be particularly interested.

In addition, has reported that he would cost Spurs £70million in wages and compensation to prise him away from the Foxes.

However, the claims that Massimiliano Allegri “would consider an approach”, along with Rafael Benitez, another experienced manager currently not with a club.

Allegri is a manager with an amazing CV, having won six Serie A titles – five with Juventus and one with AC Milan.

The 53-year-old also has four Italian Cups, three Italian Supercups, and a Serie C1 title he won with Sassuolo in his early management days.

Alasdair Gold of recently said of Allegri: “He’s one that Tottenham like and of course he’s free and has trophies aplenty to his name.

“There are questions though over whether he fits the profile of manager the club are looking for exactly and also doubts over the level of his English speaking ability.”

Allegri would be a great shout for Spurs, a manager who’s won plenty of trophies and has been praised by many including Italy legend and current Juve boss Andrea Pirlo.

“He has brought a sense of calm,” Pirlo is quoted by the UEFA as saying back in 2015. “He does not give too much importance to individual matches.

“He played in plenty of Champions League matches with Milan, and this really helped us. He gave us confidence after less good performances in recent years.”
