Report: £4m boost as English club willing to sell defender to Celtic
that Celtic are about to be given an enormous boost in their pursuit of Huddersfield Town defender Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen.
The 29-year-old is said to be available for just £4million, but the report also claims that Huddersfield have ‘given him the nod’ to leave the club after Huddersfield suffered relegation to the Championship.
A 23-time Denmark international, Jorgensen was a regular feature in Huddersfield’s side last season – perhaps being a rare shining light. His 6ft 2in physical frame also allows him to be a danger in the opposition box.
Indeed, the former FC Copenhagen star has netted 23 career goals, scoring three for Huddersfield. In 270 appearances for Copenhagen, he scored 16 times, helping his side win five Danish Superliga titles.

The Daily Record claimed earlier this week that Celtic wanted Jorgensen, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract. Now, Huddersfield have handed Celtic a big boost by stating they are willing to offload him.
TBR’s view – Celtic have go to sign Jorgensen
Celtic’s need for a centre-back is becoming somewhat alarming. Filip Benkovic’s return to Leicester City following his loan spell and Dedryck Boyata’s exit has left the Hoops in need of a new central defender.
Jorgensen is an excellent option, but at just £4million he becomes an even better purchase for the Hoops this summer. The Denmark international is worth far more than that value.
His experience, not only in European competition but his winning mentality that has seen him achieve five league titles, would be crucial for Celtic. For just £4million, he’s perfect.
