Report: £12m star’s attitude in Liverpool training ‘impeccable’, despite game time
that defender Nat Phillips has missed playing for Liverpool this season but despite his lack of game time, the Englishman’s attitude has remained ‘impeccable’ in training.
Phillips, 24, was sensational for Liverpool on Tuesday night. With Jurgen Klopp keeping just Alisson, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah in the starting line-up from the 1-0 win over Wolves, a tricky night was in store.
Liverpool had already won the group with five wins from five. A dead rubber, they were playing against a Milan side that included Zlatan Ibrahimovic up top, at the San Siro. Phillips was immense.
Alongside Ibrahima Konate, Phillips hardly put a foot wrong. His confidence brewing, he even sent two Milan players for the proverbial hot dog on the hour mark, Cruyff turning out of trouble in his own box.
James Pearce reports that Liverpool will sell Phillips, if the right offer comes along. While the Bolton-born star has missed playing – Tuesday was his first start of the season – his training ‘attitude’ remains perfect.

Phillips to leave Liverpool: Move is right for defender’s career in January
The Athletic reminds fans that Phillips almost joined Swansea City in 2020, only for a move to fall through. It saw him clock up 20 appearances for the Reds, proving crucial in qualifying for the Champions League.
While he is loved by fans, and Klopp has underlined his improvement, he needs to go. As fifth choice, he is simply not going to get enough game time. Tuesday served as a reminder to fans, in what he is capable of.
