Report: £12m player now faces being stuck on the bench, after rejecting Leeds United move this summer
, after reportedly rejecting a move to Leeds United this summer.
Dieng looked set to complete a deadline day move to Elland Road last week, but the deal collapsed.
Fabrizio Romano had reported that the deal for Dieng to move to Leeds was ‘nearly done’ but then OGC Nice entered the race.
The £12.6 million striker didn’t complete a move to Nice either and has instead remained at Marseille.
Now, he’s reportedly set for a spell on the bench as he is not in Igor Tudor’s plans for the upcoming season.

Dieng faces being stuck on bench
.
His move to Nice broke down in the final hours of the window but Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp are now interested in signing him.
The 22-year-old was close to signing for Leeds but now Marseille are talking about selling him to Antwerp as the Belgian window doesn’t close until tomorrow.
But if he does remain at Marseille, he faces being stuck on the bench as Tudor is ‘not counting on him’.

Leeds were desperate to land another striker this summer to bolster Jesse Marsch’s attacking options.
Rodrigo suffered a shoulder injury during Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Everton just two days before the window closed.
And the Whites certainly tried to land a replacement in Dieng and were also linked with a move PSV forward Cody Gakpo.
It seems that Dieng preferred a move to OGC Nice, but it didn’t work out well for the Senegal international.
Of course, the move fell through and now he may face sitting on the bench at Marseille. The striker could have got an opportunity at Leeds, especially after the injury to Rodrigo.
He may now look back with regret after a move to Elland Road was ‘nearly done’.
