Report: £11m star growing ‘frustrated’ at Tottenham under Conte, wants loan

Joe Rodon is growing ‘frustrated’ at Tottenham under Antonio Conte – and wants to leave on loan in January.

Rodon, 24, has managed just six games in all competitions for Tottenham this season. Four of those six have come in the Conference League.

The 22-time Wales international has played four games without being subbed for his country – only slightly less than his Spurs game time.

Even with Antonio Conte playing three at the back, Rodon is struggling to get into the side. Eric Dier remains first choice, with Cristian Romero.

Ben Davies is first choice on the left of the three, given he is left-footed. Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga, along with Rodon, are cover.

Alasdair Gold reports that Rodon is growing ‘frustrated’ and is open to leaving the club on loan in January. It remains to be seen, where.

Rodon to go on loan: Where is most likely for Tottenham star?

The most-likely solution for Tottenham is that Rodon is told he needs to stay, unless Spurs make a new signing. The latter is quite likely.

Conte will have been given assurances that he can spend in January and centre-back is likely to be his main priority – along with midfield.

If one comes in, Rodon could go out. A lower-down Premier League side is most-likely – Norwich, Brentford, Newcastle. Interest will be high.

But could Rodon look to join a side that play a bit more like Spurs – control possession and are playing at a higher level? A move overseas?
