Report: £100k-a-week Tottenham player will now hold internal talks about future

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is reportedly about to hold internal talks with the club about his future.

According to , the 34-year-old is ready to sit down with Spurs to discuss his contract situation.

The Frenchman’s current deal expires at the end of next season, so he will now talk directly with the club’s hierarchy.

He’s not had any discussions about a fresh contract yet, but this will take place now he’s returned to training during pre-season.

Spurs have signed goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini this summer on loan from Atalanta, with the deal including the option to buy for £12.9million ().

Lloris’ future is unclear right now, so perhaps the 26-year-old Atalanta-owned player can be a natural successor.

What should Tottenham do about Lloris future?

For Spurs, there should be no worry about extending Lloris’ contract, if the player wants to remain in north London.

The World Cup winner remains one of their most consistent performers every season, so it shouldn’t be a essential to replace him. He turns 35 though in December, so people will start to question how much longer he’s got at the top.

The north London club have a great plan in place to bring highly rated Gollini into the mix. It looks like one more year of Lloris as the number one could be best for all parties.
