Rennes attacker Ismaila Sarr could be wildcard striker option for Arsenal

In Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal are fortunate to have two exciting strikers in top form.

Lacazette has seven goals to his name this season and Aubameyang has netted 12.

But an injury up front would leave Arsenal light in the striker department because Danny Welbeck is out for the season.

And with Welbeck’s contract expiring next summer, Arsenal should be looking to bring in a new long-term replacement.

Plenty of options have been discussed and Unai Emery might even choose to promote a youngster like Eddie Nketiah.

But Arsenal have been linked with new forwards. , Rennes striker Ismaila Sarr is a target for the Gunners.

The 20-year-old is a talented young player and his tally of six goals in 21 games has sparked the interest of Arsenal.

With three assists to his name too, he is proving to be a goal threat in the French top tier and in the Europa League despite his young age.

The Senegal international fits the bill as a like-for-like Welbeck replacement because he is a speedy forward who plays up front or out wide.

With 35 dribbles and 327 passes in 21 games, , Sarr can be a real threat in either position.

Initially, Sarr would be a back-up for Aubameyang and Lacazette but he would be looking to break into the starting line-up in the near future.
