Remy Mitchell and Arsenal fans react as Omari Hutchinson makes U23 debut

Arsenal under-18 starlet Remy Mitchell has joined a number of Gunners fans in expressing their delight after seeing Omari Hutchinson handed his under-23 debut for the club on Monday.

Arsenal fans have probably been expecting to see Steve Bould hand the 17-year-old a chance for some time now. He has enjoyed an outstanding season at the level below.

Hutchinson has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in the under-18 Premier League this year. He also bagged a couple of goals in the FA Youth Cup.

And he was rewarded this week as he made his bow for the under-23s. Unfortunately for Arsenal, they missed the chance to make themselves safe in Premier League 2.

They led 1-0 against Leicester City thanks to Trae Coyle. But the home side equalised after the break, leaving Arsenal needing a point in their final game to ensure that they will be staying up.

However, there is certainly a lot of excitement surrounding Hutchinson after he came on midway through the second-half.

The versatile midfielder is being tipped for big things by many of the Arsenal fans on social media. And they hope that he is going to be a much more prominent fixture in the under-23 side next season.

There was also a message of support from fellow academy starlet Mitchell, who may set his sights on making the same jump at some stage in the future.

With that in mind, here is how Mitchell and some of the fans reacted to Hutchinson making his under-23 debut…
