‘Remarkable’ player is going to fly to the UK today to sign for Leeds United

Leeds United are going to be busy in the final hours of the transfer window.

The Whites have had a slower start to this season than they would’ve expected, and after selling a number of star players this summer, they need reinforcements.

The Yorkshire club are looking to potentially bring in a couple more players before the deadline, and they appear to be closing in on a new midfielder.

Ao Tanaka has been strongly linked with Leeds, and according to Sky Sports, this deal is getting closer to being done.

Ao Tanaka set to fly to Leeds

, Ao Tanaka is set to board a flight today to undergo a medical and sign for Leeds United.

The Fortuna Dusseldorf midfielder missed training earlier this week, and now, he’s set to get his move to west Yorkshire.

As a midfielder signing from Germany, this is a deal that has Daniel Farke’s influence written all over it.

Farke knows the German leagues like the back of his hand, and this is a move that will certainly please the manager.

Tanaka has previously been praised as a ‘’ player and Leeds could be getting a top talent here.

Ao Tanaka could be a remarkable signing

It shouldn’t be understated just how good a signing this could be.

Tanaka is a fantastic footballer, and he was one of the better midfielders at the 2022 World Cup with Japan as the Asian outfit upset the odds in a group that contained both Spain and Germany.

Japanese players have been undervalued for quite some time off the back of that tournament, as Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic team showed as well as Wataru Endo at Liverpool.

Tanaka is another player from that crop who is ready to make a big step in his career, and, in reality, he should probably be on his way to the Premier League rather than the Championship.

This could be a real coup for Leeds.
