that teenage goalkeeper Joshua Rae is currently training with Championship side Blackburn Rovers, after being released by Leeds United.
Rae, 18, failed to earn a new deal at Elland Road was released by the club, with competition between the sticks aplenty. The likes of Will Huffer, Harrison Male and Kamil Miazek are all fighting for the Under-23 spot.
Fans were somewhat surprised when it was announced that Rae had left the club, after he starred in the Premier League Cup penalty-shootout win over Fulham. Coming on in the 51st minute, Scottish ace Rae starred.

Now, it is believed he is training with Blackburn in a bid to earn a contract at the club and become the Championship club’s Under-23 goalkeeper – with a view of breaking into the senior side.
TBR’s view – will Leeds regret Rae release?
In the second half, extra time and penalties, Rae showcased his ability and that has perhaps got him the move to Blackburn. He made save after save, including one-on-ones.
Strong with the ball at his feet, Rae is showing the kind of potential that you would associate with an 18-year-old going on to have a career in the Premier League – hence the surprise at his release.
If he does win a contract at Blackburn, it will only take a little bit of luck for the Scot to break into Tony Mowbray’s senior side – and if that happens, Leeds will surely regret letting him go.
