Reiss Nelson asked if he’d be interested if Feyenoord made January move
Reiss Nelson has responded to being asked whether he would return to Feyenoord if Arne Slot made a move for the Arsenal winger.
Nelson was speaking to after returning to the Netherlands to help the Gunners round off their Champions League group-stage campaign with a draw with PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.
Arsenal were not able to end the group-stages with a win. But Reiss Nelson was one of the players who gave a good account of himself against PSV.
Reiss Nelson not looking to return to Feyenoord
The 24-year-old set up Eddie Nketiah for the opening goal. And Martin Keown picked out Nelson as one of the main positives from Arsenal’s performance.

He will be hoping that he sent a message to Mikel Arteta with his display because it has been another quiet campaign for the academy graduate.
All six of his Premier League appearances have come from the bench. So with the January transfer window just around the corner, some may perhaps be wondering whether there is any chance that Nelson leaves the club in some capacity.
He spent the majority of the 2021/22 season on loan with Feyenoord, playing under Arne Slot. So after playing against the Eredivisie leaders, Nelson was asked whether he could return to Rotterdam if Slot reached out.
“Me and the coach have got a good relationship. I helped them a few years ago and it was a great time, then. It helped me develop really well. But like I said, I signed a new contract with Arsenal and all my heart is with Arsenal right now,” he told .
Timing could be perfect for Arsenal winger to produce impressive performance
On last night’s evidence, Nelson could have an important role to play for Arsenal in the second-half of the campaign.
Of course, he is facing a huge battle for a place in the side. His best position is on the right, which means he is trying to rival Bukayo Saka.
But he showed what he could do against PSV. And as the Arsenal squad gets stretched over the Christmas period, he may be hoping for a few more chances.
Certainly, if he remains on the periphery over the next few weeks, there are surely going to be a few sides who ask about his availability in January – even if he has no intention of going anywhere.
