Neil Redfearn is a good addition to Newcastle’s academy coaching team
Newcastle United have appointed former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn to their Under-23 coaching team. report that he has been brought in to help Ben Dawson and Steve Harper oversee the young players.
There has been uncertainty at the club over the past year as Peter Beardsley has been suspended pending an investigation into his conduct.
That has yet to be resolved and the decision to bring in Redfearn may suggest that it will drag on for a while longer.

It is a positive move by the club, as Redfearn has a lot of experience in the game. He worked with the young players at Leeds United before being appointed manager.
Since his spell in charge at Elland Road, he has managed Rotherham, Doncaster Rovers Belles and Liverpool Women.
The academy has been neglected by Newcastle during recent seasons. The players that have been highly regarded, such as Adam Armstrong and Freddie Woodman, haven’t broken into the first team. A reason for this could be the coaching that they receive while at the club.
Redfearn will add a lot of experience to the coaching team and his arrival can only be considered a positive for the club.
