‘s NxGn 2020 list, which came out at the end of March, lists the Argentine youngster in 19th place, ahead of the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Giovanni Reyna.
Almada’s section read: “Ex-Velez Sarsfield boss Gabriel Heinze freely admitted last August that he was reluctant to lean so heavily on Thiago Almada because the attacking midfielder was only 18, but then he asked himself: “How can I not play him if he is so good?”
“Indeed, the kid from the same town as Carlos Tevez, Fuerte Apache, plays with the same drive and tenacity as the former Manchester City forward and, interestingly, the Argentina Under-20 international is now being linked with a summer switch to the Etihad Stadium.”

Almada is a youngster of the highest calibre, having been compared to fellow Argentine Lionel Messi by the likes of and Uruguay legend Luis Suarez by .
