Fabrizio Romano has that Arsenal are still ‘really interested’ in Houssem Aouar, even after Martin Odegaard’s arrival.

Still keen

Odegaard is set to be announced as an Arsenal player imminently, as he arrives from Real Madrid.

But it may be that Odegaard isn’t actually their only creative addition this summer.

).

Interestingly though, if Arsenal can shift some players – their interest in Aouar may not be over.

And Romano suggests that Edu and Mikel Arteta still are keen to bring the Frenchman in.

“It is a complicated situation on agent’s side, and that’s why I would keep an eye on Aouar till the last day of the window because now still some rumours we have with Tottenham and with Arsenal,” Romano said.

“These two clubs are really interested in Aouar.

“Arsenal as you know so well they wanted him and they are still keeping an eye on his situation.

“But it is now important for Arsenal to sell players.”

Another creator?

With Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe already at the Emirates Stadium the importance of signing a playmaker for Arsenal may not be quite as imperative as it once was.

But the addition of Aouar would add class to their midfield, and he could play alongside Thomas Partey in a deeper role.

Aouar actually had a relatively poor season in France last term with Lyon.

However, he is now available for a potential bargain price and that must appeal to Arsenal as they hunt new additions.
