‘Really good’…Pep Guardiola says 23-year-old showed he was ‘world-class’ against Manchester United today

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola saw his side steamroll Manchester United in the end today as they ran out 3-1 winners.

🔥Erling Haaland’s late goal wrapped up a fine win for the blue side of Manchester, as Phil Foden netted a brilliant double to see them come from behind after Marcus Rashford had scored.

For Guardiola 🐬and City, it was another box ticked on the way to winning another Premier League title and put the pressure back on Arsenal ahead of tomorrow.

🦹Of course, a lot of talk has been going on about Foden in recent weeks and the level he is at.

⛄And speaking after the game today, Guardiola said that Foden’s ability to win games on his own like today proves he is now a world class player.

ꩵ“He’s winning games. The world class players when they win games on their own and that’s what he is doing. He’s humble enough, he loves to play football, his work ethic. He can play left winger, right winger, in the false nine. So yeah, the player of the game was really good,” Guardiola told

Phil Foden is a manager’s dream

🤪It’s remarkable to think that Foden is still only 23 years old. He is some player and he showed today in the biggest game he can deliver.

Both of his goals showed different sides to his game. The first one was something needed at the time as United sat deep and invited the pressure. The second was that of a man who is as adept a finisher at the club behind Erling Haaland.

🌟Foden is now a world class player as Guardiola says and if England can’t build around the likes of him and Bellingham in the summer, then something is wrong.

𝓡Manchester City are playing some spell-binding football again and Foden is right at the heart of it.

♓For both City and England fans, it’s simply a case of long may that continue.
