‘Really good footballer’: Arsenal told they’ve sold a gem this summer, he’s already impressing in training
Daniel Ballard has left Arsenal to join Sunderland this summer and is already impressing his new teammates in training.
After a proposed move to Burnley fell through, Ballard joined another recent addition to the Championship.
While Burnley were relegated from the Premier League, Sunderland were promoted back up to the second tier through the play-offs.
Ballard has now joined their bid to keep pushing on and as per the , Ballard’s new teammate Bailey Wright has already been impressed by the defender.

Daniel Ballard impressing at Sunderland
Wright said: “He’s played a lot of games for someone who is still only 22.
“I played against him when he was at Blackpool and rated him really highly – I thought he was a standout there – and then he had a great season last year at Millwall.
“He’s an international, he has a lot of experience, and he seems a great addition as a person, too.
“We already know he is a really good footballer but fitting into the group is also massively important, and he seems to have done that already.”

Sunderland grabbing a player out of the clutches of a recent Premier League club shows the ambition of the club ahead of the new season.
Arsenal still seem to think they need defensive reinforcements in the shape of Lisandro Martinez, and it seems Ballard was never considered a solution for the first team this season.
He has real potential and quality and it will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Championship once again this season.
