‘Really good’… BBC pundit thinks £25m player will get back to his best under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
BBC pundit Nigel Reo-Coker believes we will see the best of Timo Werner at Tottenham Hotspur.
Timo Werner is closing in on a surprise loan move to Tottenham and looks set to become Ange Postecoglou’s first signing of the January transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Werner will join Spurs until the end of the season, with the North Londoners having the option to buy the striker over the summer.

It’s a move that has caught many off guard, particularly with Tottenham searching for a new centre-back.
Werner struggled during his spell at Chelsea between 2020 and 2022 but did manage 44 goal contributions in 89 games.
The 27-year-old was often criticised for a lack of cutting edge in the final third and returned to RB Leipzig just two years after joining Chelsea.
Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has backed Werner to enjoy a successful second spell in England.
Now, Reo-Coker has echoed O’Hara’s assessment of the signing and feels Werner will be a good fit for Postecoglou’s style of play.
Werner a ‘really good signing’ for Tottenham
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s , Reo-Coker delivered his verdict on Werner’s proposed move to Tottenham.
“That’s quite interesting,” the former Aston Villa man said. “That really is an interesting signing.
“But with Ange there and what he’s done at Tottenham, he’s transformed that team. With Timo Werner’s style of play, I think he’s in the right place.
“I think we’re going to see a different Timo Werner this time around in the Premier League and it’s probably the Werner we would have expected to see the first time around. I think it’s a really good signing by Tottenham.”

Spurs are in need of extra depth up front, particularly over the coming weeks with Heung-Min Son participating in the Asian Cup with South Korea.
Manor Solomon also remains sidelined, while following an ACL injury last year.
Werner will be able to come in and provide competition across the frontline, particularly through the middle and on the left-hand side.
The man has struggled for minutes at RB Leipzig this season and has netted just two goals in eight Bundesliga appearances.
But Postecoglou will certainly be hopeful he’s the right man to help Werner return to the kind of form which earned him a big-money move to Chelsea in 2020.
