‘Really good’: Antonio Conte suggests he’s been impressed by Everton man ahead of Saturday’s game
Antonio Conte was very pleased with the performance from his Tottenham Hotspur side last night.
Spurs ran out 3-2 winners against Eintracht Frankfurt, putting them in the driving seat to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.
Spurs host Everton in Saturday’s last kick-off, hoping to consolidate their place in the top four.
After a slow start to the season, Everton have improved under manager Frank Lampard.
And Conte has admitted he’s been impressed with Lampard, calling him a ‘really good manager’.
The pair have met only met once, and Conte’s side ran out 5-0 winners last season.
However, Conte has clearly been impressed with Lampard’s progression at Everton and thinks Spurs will need to be ‘at their best’ to win at the weekend.

“Now our focus has to be on Saturday because I tried to exploit this situation, I tried to give a bit of rest to players.
“We have tomorrow to rest and then on Friday we have to prepare the game against Everton.
“An important game for us, I think Everton didn’t start the season well but now they have good balance.
“They are a strong team, Frank Lampard is a really good manager and they are doing a really good job.
“For sure, we have to be at our best for the game on Saturday.”
Conte can at least rely on Son Heung-min’s form improving ahead of Saturday’s match.
Jermaine Jenas called the South Korean ‘world-class’ last night after his brace against Frankfurt.
He may need to pick up the slack for Richarlison, who Conte admitted last night had a problem with his knee.
Conte might be particularly impressed with Everton’s defensive revolution under Lampard.
Before their defeat against Manchester United last weekend, the Toffees had the best defensive record in the league.
Lampard’s side will now be preparing to face one of the strongest front lines in the league.
If the likes of Conor Coady and James Tarkowski and can keep Son and co. at bay, they’ll be over the moon.
