‘Real threat’: Liverpool talent Rhian Brewster praised by both managers after impressive display

Liverpool loanee Rhian Brewster was in fine form for loan club Swansea City yesterday. The striker scored twice as Swansea swept aside Middlesbrough and it was a performance which had his current boss purring at the final whistle.

Steve Cooper, who previously managed Brewster when in charge of the England under-17s, was waxing lyrical to the press after the game,

Although, he admitted the Liverpool talent was disappointed not to have grabbed a hat-trick.

“Rhian looked a real threat, got his two goals and he’s disappointed he didn’t have three.

“He’s a really good player, but we are a team that likes to play as a team.”

It was not just his manager who was impressed. Opposing boss Jonathan Woodgate, as called Brewster ‘exceptional’ and ‘outstanding’ in his own post-match briefing.

The timing of this performance will be extremely reassuring for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.

The young striker might finally be in line for a Liverpool first-team role next season, especially with the Reds deciding not to pursue a deal for German international Timo Werner.

Jurgen Klopp is known to be a massive fan of the striker and were it not for the player’s difficult injury record in recent times, Liverpool fans would have undoubtedly seen more of Brewster in action.

This latest display once again highlights his talent and Liverpool fans will hope it leads to a bright future at Anfield.
