‘Real talent’: Some West Brom fans laud Matheus Pereira after Arsenal showcase
Some West Bromwich Albion fans have been lauding Matheus Pereira following his showcase performance in their side’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday night.
The result back to the Championship with three games still to play, though Pereira offered some hope of delaying the drop midway through the second half.
After curling a shot narrowly wide of the post early in the opening period, Pereira sparked life into Sam Allardyce’s side with an excellent driving run before penning his of the Premier League season with a tidy finish drilled past Bernd Leno.

The Brazilian’s strike halved Arsenal’s lead and almost set the Hawthorns natives up to equalise, only for Darnell Furlong to soon waste a glorious chance when found in the box by Matt Phillips.
Willian would restore the Gunners’ two-goal advantage not long after with a precise free-kick into the top corner of Sam Johnstone’s net, but Pereira had impressed a raft of Baggies fans with some now fearing his potential summer exit.
Pereira, who has been linked with West Midlands rivals Aston Villa (), is the first West Brom player to pen double figures for goals in the Premier League since the 2014/15 campaign when Sadio Benrahma scored 14 ().
No current Baggies player has taken more shots than Pereira in the top-flight this term either, with the 25-year-old registering 57 in 31 games – Conor Gallagher (29 shots) is second, per .

Whoever Pereira is playing for next season will have a real talent on their hands

Considering we only signed him in the summer, we should be demanding at least £35m for Matheus Pereira. Quality, quality player who is only getting better

Matheus Pereira in the Championship next season should be Illegal.

At least Pereira’s value goes up every week.

West Brom simply have to hold their ground on Pereira, set a price, make it huge and don’t waiver. Either a massive fee or he stays nothing else.

From an unselfish perspective, deserves to play at the highest level and I for one wouldn’t hold it against him if he wants to stay there. Would be incredibly disappointed obviously. One of the most talented players I’ve seen in my time supporting the club.
