‘Real potential’… BBC pundit thinks ‘in-form’ Tottenham player could earn a start for England at the Euros
Matthew Upson has shared his belief that Tottenham Hotspur’s James Maddison is likely to earn a start for England at the Euros.
Upson was speaking on the BBC’s ‘’ after England’s 1-1 draw with ꦦNorth Macedonia last night.
And the pundit thought☂ the left-side of England’s front three was still up for grabs.
Upson thought Maddison was now most likely given his excellent form for Tottenham this season.
: “Maddison is probably the most in-form who has had a good couple of games hasn’t ⛄he, of la𒅌te.
“You’d say he’s got real potentia🅘l 🎀for that left-hand side.”
Upson mentioned tha🧔t Maddison would be competing with the likes of Phil Foden, but still🉐 thought he was in pole position.
Of course, Maddison’s focus will just be on a swift return f🀅rom injury right now♛.
It doesn’t need mentioning just how crucial the midfielder is already proving for Ange Postecoglou, and he will now be 𝐆sorely missed over the festive period.
Giovani Lo Celso looks like his most logical replacement, even if there are k🌜ey differences between the two.
However, Lo Celso does now have loftyꦗ interest from a E🦩uropean giant.

Scheduled to return early in theꦦ New Year, Maddison should have no issues being back fit and firing by nexꦗt summer.
Micky van de Ven seems to have a similar return date, and the two will undoubtedly be a huge boost when they do retu🍸rn.
But in the meantime, Tottenham must surely be formulating a meticulous plan൲ for the January transfer w𒅌indow.
Although thi🌠s new era has started b⭕rilliantly, the squad is still very unbalanced containing players who don’t seem to fit Ange’s plans.
And if Spurs are to better prepare themselves for the future, they’ll need to maximise♈ each window as it comes.
Matthew Upson is right in stating that James Maddison has an excellent chance of start𓄧ing ✱for England, his Tottenham form deserves it.
However,𒈔 Ange will need to have better backup in key areas to ease the burden on the spine of his squad.
Maddison did suffer with injuries at Leicester City, and he should be afforded the occasional bꦿreak🏅.
