Real Madrid now preparing £12.9m move to sign Tottenham target
Tottenham have shown great alertness in the transfer market this year when it comes to opportunities involving young talents.
Firstly, there was the £8.5m signing of Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall from Djurgarden back in January, before Spurs were quick to snap up Archie Gray in a £30m move from Leeds as well.
Tottenham are also closely monitoring a top talent based nearer to N17 – although Real Madrid are now involved…
Real Madrid lead race to sign Tottenham target Josh Acheampong
A story from the now claims that Real Madrid are preparing a bid to sign Josh Acheampong from Chelsea.
The Spanish giants – and also PSG – have been alerted to the England U18 international’s availability, with Chelsea under pressure to sell academy graduates to satisfy the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
It comes after Miguel Delaney of the Independent claimed that Tottenham are also hoping to sign Acheampong and take advantage of Chelsea’s financial situation.

The Blues are focused on selling their own youth products this summer, as those sales go down as 100% profit in PSR margins – it is why Conor Gallagher is moving to Atletico Madrid in a £42m deal, and also why Chelsea left Trevoh Chalobah out of the squad for their tour of the United States.
Real Madrid are believed to be preparing a €15m (£12.9m) bid for Acheampong, and currently lead the race to secure the 18-year-old’s signature along with PSG.
Spurs should be sniffing around Chelsea
Chelsea have left themselves in a terrible situation, spending millions on precocious talents from overseas, neglecting their own immense prospects in Cobham as a result.
It means some of England’s best prodigies, such as Marc Guehi, Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento and Omari Hutchinson, have been cast aside in recent years – therefore, Tottenham can take advantage.

Acheampong is not the only exciting talent in Chelsea’s ranks who could be sold for huge profit, as the Blues also boast the likes of Tyrique George, Cesare Casadei, Diego Moreira and Harvey Vale.

Chelsea will not always be in a position where their finest talents are effectively up for grabs, so regardless of what happens with Acheampong, Tottenham should be sensing an opportunity to raid their London rivals.
