Real Madrid should aim for someone better than Emerson Royal
In my view, Real Madrid should not make a move for Emerson Royal. I do not think that the Tottenham Hotspur right-back is good enough to play for (arguably?) the biggest club in the world.
Emerson is a good right-back. And, he is 24. He also plays for Brazil. There is no doubt that he has potential.
However, the 24-year-old is not one of the best in the world in his position. The Brazil international has not been able to make a huge impact at Spurs, as a right-back or as a right wing-back.
Moreover, Emerson is a former Barcelona player. Madrid need to be careful about signing an ex-Barca man who could fail at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Emerson has made 68 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The Brazil international has scored four goals, given two assists and kept 12 clean sheets in those games.
