Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo would be perfect for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur need to start scouring the market for potential Danny Rose and Ben Davies replacements.

While Rose and Davies have performed well for Tottenham over the years, it is time to close that chapter and look to the future.

Rose is now 28 and Spurs should cash in on him before his value drops, especially as he has been plagued with injuries in recent seasons.

Davies has struggled to nail down his spot at left-back in Rose’s absence and looks like a back-up choice at best if Spurs want to move forward.

If Mauricio Pochettino checks the European market for promising young left-backs, then Junior Firpo has to be at the top of the list.

The 22-year-old can play at left-back or further forward as a left-winger, making him the perfect attack-minded full-back for Pochettino’s style of play.

Firpo is enjoying a season to remember and he recently played a major hand in downing Barcelona.

In Real Betis’ shock 4-3 win at the Camp Nou, the Spain under-21 international scored a goal and assisted another.

Firpo has two goals and two assists this season and his ability to bomb up and down the left flank has been impressing scouts.

At such a young age, the Dominican Republic born defender is impressing in La Liga and the Europa League.

Firpo would be the ideal long-term left-back solution at Spurs.
