Reading fans react as Leeds and Sheffield United reportedly eye John Swift
Leeds United and Sheffield United are both reportedly interested in signing Reading playmaker John Swift this summer – and Reading supporters have reacted on Twitter, with many open to selling their midfield star.
Swift, 25, has enjoyed another excellent season as Reading seemed to have steered clear of a potential relegation dogfight with six league games to play. Swift has had a hand in 15 goals from midfield, during his 35 outings.
Indeed, the Chelsea youth player has scored five times this season but he has proved much more creative – laying on 10 assists for his teammates. He is renowned for his ability to score from set-pieces and long range.

A 13-time England Under-21 international, Swift has enormous potential and is now somewhat experienced in the Championship – having clocked up a huge 159 appearances despite only being 25.
Now, he could be looking to the Premier League with Leeds likely to gain promotion and Sheffield United fighting for European qualification in the top tier. both are keen, with the Blades tabling an offer.
Reading supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that both Leeds and Sheffield United are interested in their number 10, and many are open to seeing Swift move on for pastures new – but only at the right price.
For me I would cash in on swift. I would take 7-10 million with a 35% sell on fee and possibly a 1.5 million add on should leeds avoid relegation should they get promoted.

Hope Leeds buy swift for 10m plus 🤞🤞

I think now is the time to cash in on Swift, if Leeds go up they will have the money to spend. We are too dependant on Swift, if he has a bad game then the team tends to lose. Question is what is he worth now?

He has 1 good game in 10, as much as I rate him we need to cash in on him and get someone who is actually consistent

IMHO, a player with the statistics Swift has this season, pandemic or not, should be going for minimum £7 million. If we then used that money to balance out the squad (or keep us afloat) I’d be okay with it, but we can’t afford to sell another player on the cheap.
