RB Leipzig will accept Benjamin Sesko bid from Newcastle – here’s what it means for Man Utd
TBR Football understands that RB Leipzig are ready to accept Newcastle United’s club record bid for Benjamin Sesko after they upped their offer following further talks between the two clubs.
Newcastle have been in talks with Leipzig since they refused their initial offer, which was worth a total of €80million.
Newcastle have now upped their offer, which is now worth €90million with €10million of that in add-ons, and sources have confirmed to TBR Football that Leipzig believe this offer to be acceptable.

We revealed late last month that Newcastle were prepared to break their club record to land Sesko, and that is what they have done.
Exclusive: Benjamin Sesko bid accepted for Newcastle
Leipzig have indicated to Newcastle that the offer is acceptable and also to Sesko’s camp, who they are pushing for a decision, as revealed by TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.
However, Sesko’s other suitors, Manchester United, are yet to make their first move, as they wait to find out the player’s preference.
As TBR Football revealed on Monday, both Man Utd and Newcastle are waiting to hear who Sesko prefers.
“I am told that Leipzig has told Sesko that they are inclined to accept Newcastle’s bid – it meets their general criteria, and now they are pushing him to make his decision.
“Sesko held extensive talks with Newcastle and Man United last week, and as we revealed, they are both awaiting his decision.
“Newcastle are pushing hard, and an offer of €90m proves that, and I am told from sources close to the club that they are confident in their pursuit, but they have also told Sesko’s camp that they want a decision by Wednesday.

“If Sesko is going to wait for Manchester United, Newcastle will move on – but we are told from players’ insists that is not the case, they are talking to Newcastle as the player has a genuine interest in moving to Tyneside, which does give Newcastle the confidence they will land the Slovenian.”
Exclusive: Leipzig demand same fee from Manchester United
Leipzig want €90m for Sesko. They’ve told both his camp and Manchester United that this is the price. Newcastle are already offering that amount, so if United want him, they have to match it. It’s now up to United to decide whether they will or not.
Bailey states: “I can confirm that Leipzig have now underlined to Sesko’s camp that this is the value, if United were indeed his preference, they would not take anything less than what Newcastle have offered.
“Leipzig have also told United this too – whether they are willing to pay €90m – let’s see, but Old Trafford sources refuse to confirm whether this is the case.”
This one is going to be one to watch over the coming days… the Sesko saga ploughs on.
