Raul Jimenez is showing Wolves simply must sign him up permanently

Wolverhampton Wanderers must start putting plans in place to sign Raul Jimenez permanently.

The Mexico international has become something of a fan favourite already at Molineux.

The burly hitman has come in for praise from fans for the way he plays the lone striker role.

So far, he has two goals and two assists in the Premier League, which is a great return for the star on loan from Benfica.

He appears to be tailor-made for the English Premier League and its physical culture.

Wolves need to do their utmost to ensure that they can keep Jimenez beyond the current season.

Jimenez the handful

The 27-year-old is proving to be a nightmare for defenders in the Premier League so far.

His 6ft 3in frame allows him to protect the ball well, and his aggression and work rate do not allow opponents a moment’s peace.

Even when up against Southampton’s 6ft 7in defender Jannick Vestergaard at the weekend, he came out on top and gave the Dane a torrid time, providing the assist for Ivan Cavaleiro’s goal.

Everything about him so far has suggested he can be a success in the English top flight.

Wolves have to get the ball in motion behind the scenes, because each good performance will only drawthe interest of bigger teams across Europe.
