Raul Jimenez could leave Wolves for Barcelona or Real Madrid

Jimenez has been brilliant for Wolves this season. An almost ever-present, the striker has fired in over 20 times and become one of the most feared forwards in the league.

And, ahead of a summer where clubs may well look at making a move for Jimenez, the Wolves man admitted La Liga would be hard to reject.

If you tell me that tomorrow an offer from Real Madrid or Barcelona comes, it is obvious that you do not let such an opportunity go,” Jimenez .

“But if I stay here, I am fighting to qualify for the Champions League, for important things.”

Having impressed for Wolves, it would be little surprise to see either of the Spanish giants make their move.

However, Jimenez did admit he was happy in the Midlands and was merely leaving the door open.

“Leaving the doors open for anything is the most important thing. I am happy. I am an important player for the fans and for the team. I am fine, I do not close any doors, I am open to whatever comes but it does not stop me sleeping.”

Selling your best players is never a wise strategy so Wolves will need to do their utmost to keep Jimenez.

In fairness to the Mexican here, he isn’t outright saying he will leave. He is merely pointing out that the likes of Madrid and Barca are hard to turn down. It’s hard to argue that point, really.

Hopefully, for Wolves’ sake, he stays put. Replacing strikers is usually the hardest thing in football. Replacing ones of the quality of Jimenez, then, is a near-impossible task.
