Report: ‘Unbelievable’ £47m Leeds star has dropped biggest hint yet he’s about to stay at Elland Road
Leeds United might be fighting tooth and nail to keep Raphinha this summer, but the Brazilian winger has potentially hinted he might just stay put after all.
Raphinha is in-demand this summer thanks to another excellent season with Leeds. Barcelona are known to be keen on the Brazil star, while Liverpool are also said to be monitoring his situation. It’s claimed Leeds will demand at least £47m for their star man.

However, while Raphinha has admitted that his future is in the hands of his agent and the club, he has also hinted that he might stay at Elland Road due to the lure of first-team football in a World Cup year.
“I have a contract with Leeds and this issue is resolved by my agent, when there is something, he will tell me,” Raphinha is quoted as saying by .
“Knowing that there are less than six months left for the World Cup, you have to be active in the clubs. That weighs on the decision, but I am confident in my potential. Whether it is to stay or go, I am going to give my best, find my space and try to be good for the World Cup.”
Raphinha’s comments could give Leeds that bit more hope of keeping their man. The World Cup does throw a spanner in the works for some players and clubs, and in this sense, could play into Leeds’ hands.
TBR’s View: Leeds Can Convince Raphinha With Summer Signings
Raphinha has got a point about making sure he can play. While he might still be a regular elsewhere, he’s a guaranteed starter with Leeds under Jesse Marsch.
Should he move on, he does run that slight risk of being pushed to the bench and risking that World Cup place.
Leeds, then, should go all out this summer to make the big signings that will convince Raphinha to stay put. This could be an opening they didn’t expect, while another new contract might also be worth looking at.
