Rangers boss Steven Gerrard placing his trust in Joe Worrall, but what does that mean for Nikola Katic?
Rangers secured a vital 4-2 win over Aberdeen last night to remain six points behind rivals Celtic.
Steven Gerrard’s men claimed victory thanks to an Alfredo Morelos brace and goals from James Tavernier and Jermain Defoe.
It was the first time that Gerrard has seen his team come out on top against the Dons and kept up the pressure on rivals Celtic at the top.
Joe Worrall was included in Gerrard’s starting line-up; with the on-loan Nottingham Forest man now seemingly a first-team regular at Ibrox.

Clearly, the Championship side have loaned him to Rangers to play regular games.
What does that mean for Nikola Katic, however?
The Croatian signed during the summer from Slaven Belupo Koprivnica and is the same age as Worrall.
Connor Goldson has typically been the mainstay central defender in Gerrard’s team; with Worrall and Katic largely sharing the responsibility to partner him
Katic is actually Rangers’ player though, whilst there is every possibility that Forest will want their man back for next season.
The City Ground academy prospect has performed okay during his time with Rangers but is by no means the finished article.
His ball-playing aspects are improving with every game, but his defending is still very much a work in progress.
Katic is similar. Young, raw, but ultimately he is Rangers’ player.
It does seem somewhat odd that Gerrard has handed Worrall the chance to play regular football, whilst the club’s own talented youngster kicks his heels on the fringes.
Next season could well be Katic’s breakthrough campaign, but just how costly will a wasted 2018/19 campaign prove to be for the Croatian?
