Rangers transfer: Some fans react to club’s decision on wanted 23-year-old Ger

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports concerning George Edmundson and the defender’s Ibrox future amid transfer interest.

Edmundson goes into this summer off the back of a mixed season. He served a suspension during the first-half of the campaign.

The 23-year-old did go on to help Derby stay in the Championship while out on loan. But with Rangers boasting a number of centre-backs, it was difficult to predict what Steven Gerrard would have in mind for the Englishman upon his return.

Based on the latest reports however, it would appear that Gerrard has made a decision on his future.

, Rangers have told Peterborough that Edmundson is not for sale. The newly-promoted side had been prepared to part with a six-figure fee to sign the centre-back.

The reports have divided some of the Rangers fans on social media. Some seem to think that it may be worthwhile accepting a good offer for Edmundson.

The Gers have a lot of depth at centre-back. So it may, unfortunately, be best for all parties if he is allowed to leave.

However, others feel quite differently. Some are big fans of Edmundson. He has shown how good he can be – particularly against Braga in the Europa League.

And they have actually suggested that they would have the youngster ahead of either Nikola Katic or Jack Simpson in the pecking order next year.
