Rangers transfer news: Report on 2019 Gers signing’s future should surely concern £2m star and 24-year-old – TBR View
After spending a few months in the wilderness at Rangers, George Edmundson looks set to be welcomed back into the Ibrox fold – if reports concerning potential transfer interest prove to be correct.
Fans would have previously been forgiven for wondering if Edmundson’s career with Steven Gerrard’s side was all but over.

Of course, he served a suspension towards the end of last year. And he left during the January transfer window, joining Derby on loan.
So some may have thought Rangers faced a simple decision when reports emerged claiming that Edmundson is a wanted man this summer.
, Peterborough want the 23-year-old. It was claimed that they are prepared to pay a six-figure fee for the youngster.
However, the Gers have told Posh that Edmundson is not for sale.

Perhaps there is still a chance that he could yet leave on loan. But it would appear that Gerrard is ready to welcome the former Oldham man back into the fold next year.
Edmundson has looked an outstanding talent at times. So Gerrard may be confident that he is ready to get his career back on track.
But with that, perhaps the Light Blues boss may be forced to make a ruthless decision with one of Edmundson’s teammates.
Nikola Katic or Jack Simpson? Surely one is contender to leave Rangers in transfer window
As things stand, Gerrard currently has six centre-back options in his first-team.
Connor Goldson never misses a game for the Englishman. And Filip Helander and Leon Balogun largely shared the place alongside him last season.
Jack Simpson also made a number of appearances following his arrival. And Nikola Katic looks to be edging closer to a return after a long-term injury.
On paper, Katic, Simpson and Edmundson look to be in the wrong half of the pecking order.
But with Edmundson seemingly set to stay, Katic – – and Simpson may both have questions about their futures.
And perhaps Gerrard may be open to considering loan bids or even a permanent offer for either. Obviously it would be a surprise if Simpson left permanently given he only arrived this year.
Gerrard may feel that he will need all six options given all of the fronts they are battling on next season.
But surely some fans will wonder if Edmundson staying opens the door for another player to possibly leave.
