Rangers transfer: Gers have to make move for ‘outstanding’ Liverpool misfit – TBR View

Liverpool misfit Harry Wilson could be available for transfer this summer. One man who could benefit from his arrival is Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

The Ibrox outfit romped to their first Scottish Premiership title in 10 years last season. Next season, the Gers will want to defend their crown with their lives.

With that in mind, Rangers will hope to strengthen. Gerrard’s recruitment has been largely impressive so far and a raid on Liverpool could help him.

Wilson is a sound player on his day. Last season he spent time on loan at Cardiff City in the Championship. He scored seven goals and registered 12 assists for the Bluebirds.

His future at Liverpool looks bleak though. The talk is that he’s available for £17 million, although the club could consider a lesser bid .

Of course, the Gers are unlikely to spend that sort of money. The club does boast some decent forwards and that sort of spending is unheard of in Scotland.

Wilson has only made two appearances for Liverpool. He does have Premier League experience, however. During 2018/19, he made 37 appearances for Bournemouth, scoring seven goals.

A chance at Anfield looks unlikely and at 24 he will undoubtedly be looking to get regular first-team football.

Wilson to Rangers could see Gerrard dominate for years

Winning one title is a great achievement, but winning several would see the Gers boss leave a legacy behind him.

That’s the challenge Gerrard now faces and he’ll want his recruitment to be spot on.

Wilson would be a sensational capture for a Scottish team and the lure of playing under Gerrard could be significant.

One of Gerrard’s trusted lieutenants Michael Beale raved about Wilson in November. He called him after a stunning performance for Cardiff.

The talented winger is lethal from set-pieces, scores goals from all over the park and perhaps crucially, boasts potential in abundance.

Signing Wilson won’t be easy for Rangers. If Gerrard can pull some strings, however, he could be game-changing addition to the Ibrox ranks.
