With Glasgow Rangers and an Ibrox deal for Bongani Zungu seemingly , Steven Gerrard should take a look at a player reportedly being sought after once again by Celtic boss Neil Lennon.

The move was called off and Turnbull then underwent months of rehabilitation following surgery, but he was eased back into action in February and is now back to full fitness, with under his belt this term.

The 21-year-old was sensational in 2018-19, registering an impressive from 34 competitive Well games, and was hailed by Steve Robinson after his goal in a 1-1 draw at Hamilton in April 2019.

“David Turnbull was exquisite at times, although he tired a little towards the end,” he is quoted by as saying. “Ten goals is a brilliant return from him. He’s a fantastic footballer and very easy on the eye.”

Earlier this year, meanwhile, Rangers icon Alex Rae named him in a five-man list of players he’d welcome at Ibrox.

“Obviously last season was a write-off for him but when you take him on his performances from his opening season really, he scored 16 goals in 34 appearances, it’s very good,” he told the .

Rangers could do with more goals and ammunition from midfield, something Turnbull would certainly be able to provide, and as such, the Ibrox camp should look towards making a move for him.
