Rangers should ask for Harrison Reed from Southampton amid Scott Arfield interest

Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield could reportedly be chased by Premier League outfit Southampton at the end of the season.

, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton are keen on the 30-year-old that has impressed during his first season at Ibrox.

It is understood that the Gers value their man at £3million ahead of the summer transfer window.

Arfield has been directly involved in 18 goals in 42 games across all competitions for the Scottish giants and his ability to play anywhere in the midfield has made him a regular in the team.

Whether Steven Gerrard’s side will keep the Canada international remains to be seen, but if they do look to offload him they should plot a cheeky move for a Southampton player in return in a cheeky swap deal.

Southampton currently have an extremely talented midfielder out on loan this season in the shape of Harrison Reed, who has starred in the Championship with Blackburn Roves.

The Englishman has scored three times and supplied seven assists for Blackburn in 36 games, to highlight his quality.

The 24-year-old is a technically gifted ace that is great on the ball and has the vision to make a difference going forward.

Reed definitely is the type of player that could make a decent impact in Scotland, which is why he would be a good target for Rangers to consider and should perhaps even ask for him as part of an Arfield deal.
